Tom Hicks Rumored To Be Selling Dallas Stars

Tom Hicks, the co-owner of Liverpool Football Club and former owner of the Texas Rangers is rumored to be searching for a buyer for his NHL franchise, the Dallas Stars. Under the guise of his holding company Hicks Sports Group, he is believed to be looking to liquidating his portfolio yet further. However, after selling the Texas Rangers for around $500 million in January this year, it remains unsure what his intentions are since he has recently been discussing selling part of his stake in Liverpool at half the price he was demanding last year.

Betting Forum & Sportsbook Review

Hicks bought Liverpool FC in 2007 along with George Gillett, the then owner of the MontrĂ©al Canadiens, for a sum of around $700 million – half of which was to buy out the outstanding shareholders and the rest to finance the building of a new stadium. Controversy has surrounded the purchase right from the start with a combination of infighting between the pair, discontentment from the fans and a new stadium which is not just awaiting planning permission but still waiting for a decision on the design and it's financing. Current speculation is that Hicks is raising the capital to buy out Gillett’s share of the club and finance the new stadium which is vital to the club's long terms plans. But from the man with the business acumen to sign Alex Rodriguez on a 10 year $250 million deal only to ship him to the Yankees after 3 years while still paying a huge chunk of his wages, who knows?
