Baseball starts itself up for Spring Training in a few weeks, heck it only seems like a little over 3 months since the World Series. Oh, it was. But with the Winter Meetings and the offseason trades, it feels like baseball never really leaves us. And you know MLB fever starts in earnest for the season when the World Series futures are posted. And posted they are at Bodog and The Greek as well as at some lesser quality sportsbooks.

At first glance, it seems like there are few surprises at the top with the Yankees clear favorites - I bet no-one called that one. In fact the top 6 favored teams at both Bodog and The Greek all made the post season in 2009 - the odd men out being the Colorado Rockies and the Minnesota Twins.

Looking towards the end of the list a few things can be concluded. There is going to be a fight at the basement of the AL East between the Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays, it’s going to take more than Ben Sheets to make Oakland Athletics competitive and it’s going to be another long, long season if you’re a Nationals or Pirates fan.

A further thing to note is the difference in prices between the books. Although The Greek appear to offer the better lines in general, Bodog still come out top in about a third of the lines – and there are some very large variations between the books on the lines for the Red Sox and Phillies. If you’re betting then line shopping is essential, especially when you’re tying money up for the whole MLB season with these futures.
